Reading technique: Contextual clues

What we did in class, today – We first looked at our grades in SIS to see what we needed to make up. Then, we reviewed the contextual clues reading technique. Afterwards, students took the on-line contextual clues and Navajo sand painting quizzes.


  • The last chance to submit your one-paragraph summary of “Looking Out for Giraffes” is 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. Send it to me at my GUST e-mail account as a Word file. Be sure not to plagiarize.
  • If you have not completed any of the on-line quizzes in MyGUST, the deadline is 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
  • Read at least three Achieve3000 articles and do the corresponding Activities before midnight on Friday, March 20.

What we will do in class on Wednesday, March 18 – We will write Essay 4, so bring your laptop, flash memory, and a copy of the language of argumentation and Model Cause and Effect Sentences handouts.
