What we did in class, today – I distributed an argument model sentence handout and asked students to be sure to memorize these sentences. They were reminded that they need to memorize words from the language of argument that I had previously distributed. Next, I collected the one-paragraph summaries of the Marketing Club seminar from Tuesday for bonus credit. I also collected any bonus credit forms for attending the Writing Lab. This was the last day to submit these. I announced that my office hours next week will be as follows: Sunday at 1:00-1:50, Monday at 2:00-2:50, Tuesday at 1:00-1:50, Wednesday at 11:00-11:50, and Thursday at 3:00-3:50. Afterwards, students uploaded Essay 2 to Turnitin.
Final Exam – Section 6 students will sit for the final reading exam on Sunday, Dec. 18, during their regular class time. They will take the writing final exam on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. in N2-102. (Be at least 30 minutes early.) The time limit is 60 minutes.
Final Exam Conference Hours
- 11:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday, Dec. 21
- 3:00 to 3:50 on Thursday, Dec. 22
- 12:00-1:00 on Monday, December 26
- 12:00-1:00 on Tuesday, December 27
At the conference, students may inspect their final reading exam. The final writing exam is not available for review because, similar to the TOEFL, we only receive scores, but not the essay itself. Only the final exam will be discussed since students have already had the opportunity to call my attention to any marks that were entered incorrectly into SIS. There will be no bargaining for grades.
What we will do in class on Sunday, Dec 18 – Students will take the reading section of the final exam. It is worth 10% of the course grade. Be sure to bring a No. 2 pencil with an eraser.
