What we did in class, today – Today, we started the week off with the announcement that students can earn bonus credit by going for 30-minute tutoring sessions with Ms. Bushra in the English Department’s Writing Lab (first floor in the library). Download the extra credit form and take it to Ms. Bushra each time you go for a tutoring session.
Next, we viewed RW3.2 Overview and RW3.2 Animation 1 in MySkillsLab (Reading and Writing Skills). Then we, discussed the thesis sentence file and completed the exercise in it. (It is available in MyGUST under the week of Oct. 1-7.)
Students were instructed to view RW3.2 Animation 2 and RW3.2 Animation 3 and to complete RW3.2 Recall 2, RW3.2 Apply: Model Document, RW3.2 Apply and RW3.2 Write Drafting before midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 4. These assignments are for marks. It was announced that we would complete RW3.2 Post-Test in class on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Afterwards, I showed students how to check their progress in each category in MySkillsLab and in grades in MyGUST.
Homework – After viewing RW3.2 Animation 2 and RW3.2 Animation 3, complete RW3.2 Recall 2, RW3.2 Apply: Model Document, RW3.2 Apply and RW3.2 Write Drafting before midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 4. They will not be available to complete after this date and time. These exercises are for marks.
What we will do in class on Wednesday, Oct. 4 – We will do a writing exercise stressing the importance of using concrete words, and we will work on writing body paragraph. Be sure to bring your laptop, power cord and flash memory.
