What we did in class, today – Students wrote in-class Essay 2. It was announced that course grades are up to date and that bonus credit has been entered, so students should check their grades in MyGUST. If there is a mistake, students must see me during my office hours either tomorrow or Sunday. After that, no changes will be made. (However, Essay 2 marks are not included since students just submitted them a few minutes ago. These marks will be entered on Sunday or Monday of next week.)
Exit Exams – Both exit exams are on-line; consequently, you must bring your laptop, power cord, and flash memory. Both exams are 50 minutes in length, and both exams will start at the beginning of our scheduled class time.
- The exit writing exam will be on Sunday, Dec. 17. You will choose to write either a cause and effect essay or a problem-solution essay. The time limit is 50 minutes.
- The exit reading exam will be on Tuesday, Dec. 19. You will answer questions about two reading passages. There will be approximately eight questions per reading passage.
Bonus credit opportunities – It was announced that students can earn up to five percent bonus credit for going 10 times to the English Department’s Writing Lab (first floor in the library) for tutoring. They must take the bonus credit form with them, but only Ms. Bushra or Ms. Fajer may tutor them for bonus credit. The bonus credit forms are due no later than Sunday, Dec. 17.
What we will do in class on Sunday, Dec. 17 – Students will write the writing exit exam, which will be either a cause and effect or a problem-solution essay. Consequently, they must have their laptop, power cord, and flash memory with them. The writing exit exam is worth ten percent of the course grade.
