Tuesday: Pearson 3.4 Activities

What we did in class, today – I announced that students who write a response essay on Monday, June 10, at 11:00-11:50 in N5-102 or at 12:00 to 1:00 in W4-203 will have the lowest of the four response essay marks dropped. (The date has been changed due to the Eid, next week.) However, students are not required to do this. I also explained that students who choose to write only the three response essays during regularly scheduled class time will not have the lowest mark of the three response essays dropped. The opportunity to write a fourth essay is a one time offer. Anyone not writing the response essay on June 10 at 11:00 in N5-102 or at 12:00 in W4-203 will not be given another chance to do so, regardless of the reason they miss do not come at 12:00 on June 10.

Students completed Pearson 3.4 Apply: Model Document, 3.4 Apply and 3.4 Write Drafting in class. In order to receive credit for 3.4 Write Drafting, students were instructed to write about the following: ‘If you were to write the story of your life, what would you call it? Brainstorm a list of titles, and rank the best three. Why is your first choice first? Did you italicize or use quotation marks? Did you capitalize correctly?’

Bonus Credit

  • Practice for Response Essay 2 by downloading Response Essay 1 as a Word document and saving it to your USB. Then, ask Mrs. Salwa or Ms. Bushra for help in improving your essay. This will aid you in preparing to write Response Essay 2, which will have two writing prompts from ‘Students Vulnerable to Computer Gaming Addiction’ to choose from.
  • Read ‘Students Vulnerable to Computer Gaming Addiction’ (pp. 232-234 in In Concert, Pearson’s eText) if you have not already done so.

What we will do in class, Wednesday (May 29) – The class will discuss ‘Students Vulnerable to Computer Gaming Addiction’ (pp. 232-234 in In Concert, Pearson’s eText).
